UnRestrict Minnesota campaign opposes restrictions on abortion in Minnesota

A few days ago, a group called Gender Justice, a Minnesota-based anti-gender inequality organization, filed a lawsuit seeking to strike down multiple laws restricting abortion in Minnesota.

To promote their efforts to strike down laws that violate the rights of Minnesota women, a website called UnRestrict Minnesota, which can be found here, has been launched in order to raise awareness of abortion restrictions in Minnesota in opposition to the restrictions, which undermine a woman’s right to make her own reproductive health care decisions. The website is very informative about Minnesota’s abortion laws, and lists seven types of abortion restrictions that are on the books in Minnesota. Among the abortion restrictions on the books in Minnesota include, but are not limited to, a law mandating that fetal tissue be buried or cremated and a law legally forcing doctors to lie to their patients about a link between abortion and breast cancer that doesn’t exist. These types of abortion restrictions are designed to create financial, emotional, logistical, and/or other barriers to a woman’s right to decide whether or not to terminate a pregnancy.

In addition to its website, the UnRestrict Minnesota campaign operates Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
