Wisconsinites should vote for Lisa Neubauer on April 2

Recently, it has been revealed that Brian Hagedorn, the far-right candidate in the officially non-partisan election for an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court this year has a long history of bigotry against the LGBTQIA+ community, including:

  • Founding, and serving on the board of, the Augustine Academy, a private elementary school in Waukesha, Wisconsin that discriminates against LGBTQIA+ people.
  • Accepting money from the Alliance for Defending Freedom (ADF), recognized by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as an anti-LGBTQIA+ hate group, to give a speech to that group.
  • Making offensive and bigoted remarks about LGBTQIA+ people.

It is inherently clear that Brian Hagedorn is simply too bigoted to be able to effectively serve as a fair and impartial justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Recently, the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA) revoked its endorsement of Hagedorn. Although real estate agents’ associations tend to be right-leaning politically, there is past precedent for a real estate agents’ association pulling their endorsement from a political candidate over a candidate’s opposition to LGBTQIA+ equality.

In just a little over than one month from now, on April 2, Wisconsinites will go to the polls to elect a new state supreme court justice. I encourage Wisconsinites to vote for Lisa Neubauer for Wisconsin Supreme Court. Neubauer, an experienced jurist, can be trusted to uphold the rule of law and equal protection of the law.
